Flux, Orion Carloto
Orion Carloto

Flux is a somber narrative, an ode to change, a collection of poetry and prose written from the many states of grief over a broken heart.  With original illustrations by artist Katie Roberts, Orion Carloto creates a dream world for the brokenhearted and paints a whimsical picture around the themes of love, loss, solitude, depression, sex, nostalgia, and unrequited romance. Flux takes readers through a raw and sorrowful journey of each and every bitter moment of heartbreak. Forewarning, Flux is best read with a warm cup of coffee in hand.

Your Girl

I crave to be the one you want, photograph me in black and white.Run your fingers through my hair, tease me with a bite. Tell me I’m your midnight muse, write about me when you’re alone.Whisper to me all your secrets, feel me in your bones. Pick me up and read me,like I’m your favorite book.Reach inside my darkest thoughts, until the very nook.I wanted you beneath my arms, the night you talked about committing,I clenched my fists and begged to help, but to you I wasn’t fitting.

The Birds and the Bees
We tiptoed on forest floors, skipping over pinecones and broken tree branches. Stumbling upon a honeysuckle shrub where we took turns savoring its sweet nectar. I’m allergic to the pollen that the season births, but at no point did that stop me from making love to you in a wild bed of red poppies that magical afternoon. We exchanged childlike giggles mid-kiss, smiles dancing recklessly across our faces. Our love grew feverishly with the flowers that April. An unforgettable swan song shared with the birds and the bees.
