Sans Roses is Nikera Cartwright's story of her desire for love, challenges with unrequited love and the struggles in between. This debut collection encompasses a journey through poetry and spoken word. It's a transformation of sorts; a means of self-acceptance and the realities and complexities of love and relationships. There's no real way to prepare for the experiences life will bring or the choices which have to be made, but in the end they all make for a story worth telling. Sans Roses is a reflection that women in general can relate to as it spans almost a decade of personal experiences. Despite all her fallen petals, Cartwright still believes in love and the ability to experience what she desires.
