Squadron of the Damned

Chapter one of this book is dated July 1942, but it is set in a fantasy or future land (we are not sure which) of inter terrestrial commerce and warfare. Ricky Werts joined the space patrol unit to clear his brother of a murder charge, but in the course of so doing lands himself in worse trouble than he could ever have imagined.
