“Life in Canada” is a family history book. According to the author, it was started by his ancestor, Roger Conant, a graduate of Yale University and a Massachusetts landowner, who set foot on Canadian soil as a United Empire Loyalist in 1792. The book was passed over generations for a hundred years until it reached Thomas Conant, who considered it ready for publishing. It includes facts about the history of Canada and the manners and customs of its inhabitants and lets a reader trace how those changed in a century.
