The Art of Meditation

We no longer live our own life; Christ lives our life for us and through us; we become nothing more nor less than an instrument for this divine Activity: we have no will of our own; we have no desire of our own; we go when and where we are sent;

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

The person on the spiritual path, however, who has learned to open himself to the activity of the Christ through meditation, knows no limitation. There is no limit to what the Christ can perform through a human being in twenty-four hours.

Let us be willing to wait until the very second before a decision must be made; even if it is a minute later than necessary, we wait and wait. Let us be patient, very patient.

Let us be beholders of God appearing as our health, our wealth, our strength, and our life.

He views with amazement and distrust anyone who deliberately chooses to devote his time and money to the development of his spiritual nature rather than to the pursuit of pleasure, fame, and fortune—the gods of this world.

God can be attained only by a complete surrender of every desire, except the desire to bask in His love and grace. In this meditation we begin to make the sacrifice:

Stop fearing; stop doubting. Rest in My bosom; rest in My arms; rest in My love and be at peace. Trust the I at the center of your being. Believe that I can do these things. Believe that there is a Presence at the center of your being whose only function is to bless, to be a benediction, and to be the instrument of My grace. Trust Me; believe only in Me; fear not.

Stop fearing; stop doubting. Rest in My bosom; rest in My arms; rest in My love and be at peace.

The Comforter is within you; it is the “Peace, be still” to every storm without and to every disturbance within. Open the door of your consciousness and let the Comforter speak; let the Comforter be your assurance; let the Comforter be your supply, your health, the harmony of your home, and the peace of your inner life.
