In a sleepy Danish town, death lurks amongst the dusty bric‑a‑brac…

The elderly volunteers at the second-hand shop keep dying. Heart attacks. Strokes. A simple case of old age, say the police. Sad but inevitable.

Newly retired Mrs Mortensen begs to differ. This “Danish Miss Marple” and her loyal dachshund, Mortensen III, sniff a sinister pattern at work.

Armed with a fierce sense of justice and a fondness for tea and cake, Anne-Maj launches her own investigation. The further she probes into local gossip and small-town grudges, the more certain she is that someone is killing the shop's volunteers, one by one. But how—and why?

Can this amateur sleuth outwit a murderer before there’s another “accidental” death—possibly even her own?

Move over Scandi‑Noir: this is Danish crime like you’ve never seen it before. Perfect for fans of humorous, character‑driven whodunnits, Scandinavian mysteries and Hannah Hendy's "The Dinner Lady Detectives".

Anne Grue is a bestselling Danish crime novelist, creator of TV-adapted detective Dan Sommerdahl, now turning to humorous Danish cosy crime with amateur sleuth Mrs Mortensen.
