Daniel Hannan

Daniel Hannan is a British writer, columnist, and former politician. He has written nine books, including the New York Times bestseller Inventing Freedom: How the English-Speaking Peoples Made the Modern World.

A former president of the Oxford University Conservative Association, he was elected to the European Parliament in 1999, at the age of 27, and has been twice reelected. He sat as a Conservative MEP for 21 years till 2020 and was one of the founders of the Vote Leave campaign.

His own 217-page book, Why Vote Leave (2016), became The Sunday Times Bestseller. The Guardian described him as "the man who brought you Brexit".

He serves on the UK Board of Trade and is a Vice-Chairman of the Conservative Party responsible for its international relations.

Currently, Lord Hannan of Kingsclere teaches at the University of Buckingham and the University of Francisco Marroquín.

He contributes to several newspapers, among others, The Sunday Telegraph, The Washington Examiner, and Conservative Home.
