Tina Folsom is a German-American paranormal and contemporary romance author. She is best known for her Scanguards Vampires series and the Eternal Bachelors Club. Her books have appeared on the New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists.
Tina Folsom was born in Germany and has lived in English-speaking countries for over 25 years. After leaving school, she spent time in Lausanne, Switzerland, and then worked briefly on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean. She later lived in Munich before moving to London, where she worked as an accountant for eight years.
She then moved to New York to study acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She moved to Los Angeles a year later and enrolled in a screenwriting programme at UCLA. "That got me back into writing," she later said, "and it took me until the autumn of 2008 to find the right genre: romance.
Folsom wrote her first romance in 2008 and published her debut novel, Lawful Escort, in 2010. She chose to self-publish and remain independent. "When I started self-publishing, I had written three short stories and three books," she explains. Her approach brought quick success. She sold over two million books in all formats and languages within four years.
Her best-known works include the Scanguards Vampires, Venice Vampyr and Out of Olympus series. They feature strong alpha heroes, fast-paced plots and explicit romance. "These are the scenes I write the most, and I love them," she said of her erotic content. She has also launched the Eternal Bachelors Club, a contemporary series with no paranormal elements.
Folsom translates her books into German, her native language, and works full-time as an independent author. Her books are available in English, German, French and Spanish.
Tina Folsom lives with her American husband in San Francisco.
