Disciplines have developed a different understanding of the notion, function and purpose of models. We thus need a systematic approach in order to understand, to build and to use models. This book gives an insight into the disciplinary modelling know-how and is a starting point to develop a general model approach that generalises and combines for an interdisciplinary use.
