This work presents a study of the use of the Sumerian language in Kassite Babylonia. Consulting new materials from the Vorderasiatisches Museum of Berlin, it analyzes key linguistic features of Sumerian as well as the contexts and ideological significance of its use with an eye toward gaining a broader understanding of scribal education in this period more generally.
